About the Show
“In every neighborhood across our country, there are good people insisting on a good start for the young. And they’re doing something about it.” – Fred Rogers
In the tradition of Fred Rogers… Look, Listen and Learn uses local television as a means to foster parent-child relationships, connect viewers to community organizations and help children gain the necessary skills they need in order to succeed in school.
Look Listen & Learn has a three-fold mission to:
- Inspire EARLY LEARNING by applying brain development research to a locally-produced children’s television show;
- Increase SCHOOL READINESS among our preschool-age population; and
- Enhance PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIPS through shared experiences.
Through the implementation of the Washington State Early Learning Benchmark Learning Objectives, each thirty-minute program will have a theme, such as friendship or manners. Children will see a series of segments (arts and crafts, story time, cooking, etc.) that will demonstrate language, problem solving skills, vocabulary, math and more. The show combines puppetry, animation and music to achieve its mission of inspiring early learning and school readiness. Look, Listen and Learn works with a team of local early childhood experts to ensure that each episode meets these objectives.
We need you to partner with us to continue providing this needed resource to families and children.
