Community Outreach Board

The Community Outreach Board is made up of a dynamic group of individuals who contribute to the Look, Listen and Learn mission by serving as ambassadors and public representatives for the organization.

As a board member, you:

•    Attend annual retreats and serve as a public representative for Look, Listen and Learn at community and civic events, fundraisers and cultivation gatherings.
•    Work hands-on with staff and fellow board members to develop goals for the future.
•    Reach out to our other community members, businesses and organizations to increase awareness and gain support for Look, Listen and Learn.
•    Contribute financially to the organization and help with ongoing fundraising efforts.

Current Board Members:

Jan Stout, Chair, Human Services Commission at City of Bellevue and retired United Way of King County Community Affairs and former Manager, Community Connections with Bellevue School District, has over 45 years experience in community development and community organizing that benefits and strengthens local families.

CC Gardner-Gleser, Registrar, University Prep and recent Yale graduate, has served on a number of boards in the past focused on children and education, including A Better Chance, a national program geared towards providing access to quality education for racially-diverse students in urban environments.

Kerri Everly, Development Services Officer at University of Washington was the 2008 United Way of King County Spirit of Caring Campaign Coordinator of the Year. She has a background in early learning education and previously ran an in-home daycare program.

Marlene Price, Engineering Function Leader at Boeing and recipient of the 2002 Women of Color in Technology award enjoys working with young people and serves as a mentor in various capacities.

Joan Sharp, Executive Director of Council for Children & Families, Washington. A former city council member, Joan currently serves on the King County Child & Family Commission. Previously, Joan served as director of a United Way Success by 6 initiative and of a rural, early-childhood focused, comprehensive family support center.
