DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST POSITION
Part-time position: Up to 20 hrs/week. This position is currently a part-time, flexible independent contract position.

Project: Look, Listen and Learn (LLL) is an early learning TV program. Our mission is to inspire and advance early learning in young children of color by offering a locally-produced television show and related programming that is anchored in research about what works best to promote school readiness and success.
Position overview: LLL is seeking a Development Specialist to provide leadership in generating revenue sources through innovative and strategic initiatives and fundraising efforts. The specialist will devise, recommend and execute cultivation, fundraising and solicitation strategies. The position is responsible for donor/sponsor retention and increased involvement and support. This includes maintaining relationships via personal contact, broad correspondence, community and cultivation events. This position is remote work with periodic in-person check-in meetings. The ideal candidate must be self-reliant, efficient, trustworthy and self-accountable to work plan and deliverables.
Successfully identify and develop donor/sponsorship contacts, contracts and policies
Nurture and sustain relationships with major donors and cultivate new relationships with individual donors and other financial supporters to ensure the financial health of the project
Promote and sell show sponsorships
Coordinate and manage fundraising events and campaigns
Working cross-functionally with Core Team Members
Track funding opportunities, produce proposals and sponsorship invitations
Develop and execute an external relations plan to raise the profile and visibility of LLL
Oversee the maintenance of grant proposal development
BA/BS degree in business/sales or comparable related field experience
A proven sales/fundraising professional with 2+ years’ experience
Prefer experience in broadcast sales and sponsorships
Talent for identifying potential "up and coming" partners
Knowledge and understanding of fundraising practices and principles
Superior client interaction, communication and negotiation skills
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with fundraising databases preferred
Highly professional, driven and motivated with excellent follow-up
Thinks creatively and strategically
